Jo Wigley

Jo is a people and culture consultant and executive coach who works with individuals and teams to create great workplaces. Her approach is based on her experience in senior executive roles and a background in psychology and coaching.
Personal experience in leadership roles enables Jo to work with the whole system to foster learning and well-being. She has designed and facilitated a range of interventions such as a strategic planning process that involved participants from a school community in focus groups and planning workshops; a problem solving workshop for a group of medical professionals experiencing significant conflict; and a large scale staff workshop to debrief a culture survey and build commitment to collaborative and respectful work practices.
A background in psychology and coaching informs Jo’s approach in the use of research and evidence-based practice. In practical terms, this involves using the science of expertise to design learning for embedding skills, applying emotion management and resilience strategies for achieving high performance, and combining the principles of group dynamics and effective communication for influencing others and building support for change.
The natural environment is a source of inspiration for Jo who, earlier in her career, was involved in the environment movement. She has a keen interest in the use of indigenous species on her rural property to expand the available habitat for birdlife.
Jo is a registered psychologist with endorsement in organisational psychology and holds masters level qualifications in business (Master of Marketing from the Melbourne Business School) and psychology (Master of Arts by research from the University of Melbourne). She is a member of the APS, a fellow of the APS College of Organisational Psychologists and a member of the APS Interest Group in Coaching Psychology.
